Italian Journalist

Claudia Benetello is an Italian journalist

Claudia Benetello became a member of the Italian Journalists Association in 2007, after which, as a musical journalist, she contributed to numerous newspapers, magazines and periodicals, including Max and Gioia, interviewing Italian and foreign artists. A few names? Cesare Cremonini, Elio e le Storie Tese, Pat Metheny and Simple Minds.

In 2015 she launched Face the Music, her online editorial project. Each week she published an interview with a celebrity—not necessarily one from the world of music—who would recommend a themed, five-song playlist. Though the magazine is no longer updated, it can still be accessed.

In June 2015 Claudia Benetello was a guest on BBC Radio 5 Live, commenting with a live phone link-up on the success of British music in Italy.

(Did you spot a little slip of the tongue? Yes, she said “Il Divo” when she clearly meant “Il Volo”!)

Not only music journalism: brand journalism

Today, being a journalist is no longer connected solely to the world of offline and online publishing. If it’s true that every company is a media company because, thanks to the Internet, it can create and distribute its own contents, then a professional in the media industry can also place their skills at the service of a brand.

Parallel to advertising, a new way to talk about a brand and its values is emerging: brand journalism.

What is it? It’s a form of journalism aimed at communicating everything that revolves around a brand by providing readers with quality content. This is done through various means, such as social networks, company blogs and in-house magazines, and unlike advertising it’s aimed not at selling something but at increasing brand awareness.

Claudia Benetello, Italian journalist based in Milan, will be happy to help you with your institutional communication projects (writing press releases, company profiles and other informational materials) and brand journalism in any industry.

More than a freelance journalist, Claudia is an all-around communications professional. In the past she was a publicist in the music industry and currently offers the following services:

  • I worked with Claudia when we both worked for the same magazine and I immediately appreciated her professionalism and her clear, curious and pragmatic writing style, never over the top. With Face The Music Claudia embarked on a path that expresses her passion and experience in the world of music, a fun new and fast format, in keeping with the pace of the Internet. Reading her interviews, you can grasp her vision, her imprint, but the voice is always that of her interviewees – which is no mean feat!

  • Claudia is 100% professional, an expert and a person with whom it’s a pleasure to work – a rare quality. A copywriter and translator like her is a key asset for any company and/or organization that wants to take its business to the next level.
But she is also a passionate and capable journalist who is inspired by her contagious love for the music industry, which she experiences and conveys from a completely personal and special viewpoint – as in Face The Music.
