Claudia Benetello is an Italian journalist

I became a member of the Italian Journalists Association in 2007.

As a music journalist, I interviewed Italian and foreign artists for numerous newspapers, magazines and periodicals, including popular Italian magazines Max and Gioia.

A few names? Cesare Cremonini, Elio e le Storie Tese, Pat Metheny and Simple Minds.

In 2015 I launched Face the Music, my online editorial project. Each week I would publish an interview with a celebrity—not necessarily one from the world of music—who would recommend a themed, five-song playlist. Though the magazine is no longer updated, it can still be accessed.

In June 2015 I was a guest on BBC Radio 5 Live, commenting with a live phone link-up on the success of British music in Italy. Unfortunately I said “Il Divo” when I clearly meant “Il Volo”, but these things happen, don’t they?

Not only music journalism: brand journalism

Today, being a journalist is no longer connected solely to the world of offline and online publishing. If it’s true that every company is a media company because it can create and distribute its own online content, then a professional in the media industry can also use their skills to help brands.

Parallel to advertising, a new way to talk about a brand and its values is emerging: brand journalism.

What is it? It’s a form of journalism aimed at communicating everything connected to a brand by providing readers with quality content. This is done through various means, such as social networks, company blogs and in-house magazines. Unlike advertising it’s aimed not at selling something but at increasing brand awareness.

I’m an Italian journalist based in Milan and I’d be happy to help you with your corporate communication and brand journalism in any industry. Here are a few examples:

  • Press release: a text that officially reports a fact or a piece of news.
  • Company profile: a text that tells the story of a company, its evolution and the direction it’s going.
  • White paper: a document used by a company to present the solution to a specific problem based on research and statistical data.
  • Corporate magazine: a publication which reinforces the brand identity by covering brand-related topics.

More than a freelance journalist, I am an Italian communications all-rounder. In the past I was a publicist in the music industry and I currently offer these services:
